Happy Birthday Nathan!!

Today is the big 0-5 for Nathan!! Oh how time has flown by. I remember holding him for the first time and being so scared to take him home since I didnt know what I was doing. He is the most sweetest, loving, adventurous, little boy I know and I sure am Blessed God allowed me to be his mother! Happy birthday buddy, mommy and daddy love you to infinity and beyond!!!!
Nathan gets to bring treats into school today and so I made cupcakes and he is so excited to share them with his friends, looks like the birthday boy will be having a great day on top of a already wonderful weekend!!

On another note, this past weekend Grammy and Pop Pop got a bunk bed for their house. The kids were SOOOOOOO excited to go sleep in it, so they had Lindsey and Nathan sleep over Saturday night. The two kiddos did amazing. They thought it was so much fun, both slept all night and even took naps. Nathan came home saying that he needed one because it was so much fun!! Grammy and Pop Pops house has just became the coolest place to hang out and sleep LOL!!!! How fun!!!

Pre birthday weekend recap

This weekend, was what we call "Nathans pre birthday weekend". We celebrated his birthday with Grammy and Pop Pop today, and then yesterday he talked us into getting him bearded dragons as a present!!! We had such an awesome weekend and he had such a special celebration! We had Dairy Queen ice cream cake, yummy pizzas, and he got some great gifts. I still cant believe he turns 5 tomorrow!! Tomorrow I will be doing a birthday blog, but had to get the weekend pictures out before it turned into birthday pics, haha!!! Hope everyone had a great weekend like we did!!!

Chicken, a car ride, and a rainbow!

Last night, we loaded up the kids to go pick up 80lbs of chicken! Yes, you read that right....80 pounds!!! We found a site that sells it in bulk, and every 6 months offers it in this area. Now, of the 80, 20 goes to my parents, but still....thats a lot of chicken huh? HAHA!!
Anyhow, back to my story....so on our way to go pick it up, Caleb was starting to fall asleep. I gave him a piece of paper to distract him and so he and I started playing peek a boo, so cute!!!
After we picked the chicken up, we saw a HUGE rainbow in front of us, literally right in front of us...the end of it was a few feet away and thats when we noticed, there was no end to it, it literally kept moving with us almost, each angle we saw it at. Needless to say, there was no leprechaun and no, we did not find the pot of gold. Sad, I know!!! : (

On a different note, my poor almost 5 year old!! He is only 3 days from his birthday and not feeling too good. He has a sinus infection AND croup. He sounds terrible and has had it for about two days now, hopefully the little man gets to feeling better soon as he needs to be in party mood for Monday, he is the big 0-5!!!

The Cuddling Siblings!!

Yesterday, I had to run upstairs to fold a quick load of laundry. The kids were downstairs playing with their toys. When I returned downstairs, I found the three of them all lined up on the couch with their blankets, watching Elmo. It was too cute. Nathan had lifted Caleb onto the couch so he could join them!! Those three sure are best friends!! Hope that continues in the years ahead, :)

Sunny Monday fun!

Yesterday was once again, gorgeous weather!! It was probably 72 and sunny. Nathan had school in the morning, so the other two kids and I caught up on housework (they mainly threw the laundry around, while I attempted to fold and put it away haha). Once Nathan was home from school and lunch/naptime was over, we spent the entire afternoon outside in the sun. We walked to the park, played with bubbles/chalk, found a few bugs to put in the bug catcher, and played on our swingset. It was the perfect Monday and start to our week. Josh and I put the kids to bed last night and enjoyed the evening by sitting on the patio with a beer haha, even better way to end the day :)

Weekend Recap!

This past weekend was AMAZING weather!!! Blue skies, 70, sunny, and well....SUNNY!!! It was sooooo relaxing and nice to be able to be outside in short sleeves and not freeze hehe!! We all ran errands, played on the swingset, had a great bbq with my parents on Sunday after church, etc. The kids even got to enjoy their first popsicle of the season!!! What a fun way to end the week!! This week should have some nice weather as well as some fun playdates!!

Recipe Swap and Rufus!

Yesterday, I had about 6 moms over for a recipe swap/playdate. The kids all had a great time, as did the moms. There was some awesome food, and LOTS of it. It was fun seeing all the new recipes I had never had before. Yummy!!! What a great time and a great way to wear us all out, :)

This morning, Lindsey was coming downstairs and saw a spider. Instead of freaking out, she said "look mama, its daddys friend Rufus" and walked on. Confused, I text Josh asking him who Rufus was and the story behind it. He said that when we first moved into this house, he was giving the kids a bath. There was a bug in the bathroom that the kids saw and started to cry and freak out. He wasnt able to kill it since it was too high up, so he came up with the story that the bug was his friend named "Rufus". The kids then saw another bug and that became "Pufus". Lindsey remembered that story from several months ago, and now each bug in our house is named "Rufus" or "Pufus" and is daddy's friend, hehe!!! Please note: our house is NOT bug infested, although this story makes it sound like that, hahahahaha!!! Also note: "Rufus" is no longer alive as mama and him got into a battle without the kids looking, and I won haha!!

Sunshine, Relaxation, and Family time!!

We were able to relax and spend almost the entire weekend outside. The only reason I say "almost" is because the kids had nap time, causing us to come inside hehe!! It was wonderful. The weather was sunny and about 65 all weekend!! Perfect temp!! Saturday we ran errands, and then played outside. Sunday, after church, we headed to Grammy and Pop Pops house to have lunch and hangout with them. In the afternoon, we came home and the kids played on their swingset in the backyard with their friend. It was quite the low key weekend!!
We woke up this morning to rain, ugh, but thats okay, gives me a chance to get caught up around the house again. Happy Monday!!

Outside Fun!!

Monday and Tuesday, the kids and I spent a lot of time outside. Their play fort wasnt finished yet, so we spent time in the front yard going on walks, picking mommy flowers (aka dandelions in which they wanted me to put in a vase inside....haha), riding bikes, and playing with sidewalk chalk. It was a lot of fun and a great way to wear them out before bed haha!! Wednesday returned to the rainy weather we are so used to, so we had to stay inside....however, this morning, Thursday, is looking rather nice so far, and Josh finished the play fort, so lets hope we are able to get out there and enjoy it today!!!
